Scope and Contents
This folder consists of academic papers, correspondence, fliers, peer evaluations, curriculum vitae, student evaluations of faculty, proposals, Fulbright application, acceptance letter, and other related Fulbright material documenting professional activities from 1993 to 1996. The evaluations document the programs "Banned in Boston" in spring 1994, "Global Webs and the Reimagined Americas" in winter 1996, and "Brazil: Language, Culture and Self" in fall 1994. The papers included in this folder are "An Odyssey of Race, Gender, and Class: Two Generations and Three Decades of Negotiating Mulata Subjectivity in Brazil," " Symbolic Subordination and the Representation of Power in Margaret Mead and Samoa," "The Status of Affirmative Action Today," and "Labor, 'Love' and Lust: Black Women in the Borderlands of the Struggle for Place in Brazil."
