Biographical / Historical

The Washington Public Interest Research group (WashPIRG) is a nationwide student organization dedicated to grassroots activism responding to public concern. The Evergreen chapter was started in the late 1970s. They have worked on environmental projects, legislation regarding affordable housing and food, and campus-wide issues such as affordable texbooks.
