Abstract Niels Skov was born in 1919 in Denmark. Growing up, he was angered by Denmark's capitulation to Germany during the second world war. As a young man, he joined the Danish Resistance Movement. In 1944 he was arrested by the Gestapo. After being shuffled through numerous camps, he escaped with a fellow prisoner.
