Biographical / Historical
Susan Fiksdal began teaching at The Evergreen State College in 1973. She received her BA from Western Washington University in 1969 majoring in French. In 1971 Susan received her first MA from Middlebury College in French. She received her second MA in 1982 and her PhD in 1986 - both in Linguistics from University of Michigan, and served as TA in ESL while at University of Michigan. In 1996 through 2001 she was the Academic Dean for Part-Time Studies and International Studies, and served as Interim Academic Dean in 2003. From 2011-2012 Susan was a Fullbright Scholkar for Hong Kong Baptist University. In 2013 she received emerita faculty status from The Evergreen State College. Her focus at The Evergreen State College was in French cultural studies, linguistics, and research in seminaring.
