Content Description

This collection documents the activities of the Evergreen State College: Board of Trustees from the college's conception in 1967. It contains material relating to the development of the college including site selections; site appraisals; site acquisitions; consultations; budgets for construction and projects; and building designs and blueprints. Other material includes Board of Trustees meeting minutes and material, correspondence and some Audio/Visual material of the meetings on cassette tapes and floppy disks.

Biographical / Historical

The Evergreen State College’s Board of Trustees is an official governing body, made up of eight members. Its purpose is to create policy, approve planning, and keep records. It is also the group who makes the appointment of the President. Seven of the members are chosen from outside the Evergreen community by the Governor of Washington while the eighth is chosen from a group of nominees by their peers on campus.
