Biographical / Historical
David Marr was a founding member of faculty at The Evergreen State College from 1971 until his retirement in 2008, focusing on teaching American studies and American literature. Marr recieved his BA majoring in English from the University of Iowa in 1965, and continued on to receive his MA in English - American Civilization in 1967. He later received his Ph.D. in American Studies from the Washington State University in 1978. Prior to his teaching at The Evergreen State College, he was an English instructor at the University of Idaho from 1970-1971 and Bradley University from 1967-1968. From 1984-1987 Marr served as an Academic Dean, overseeing faculty evaluations, development of curriculum, and other governance duties.
