Original poetry and correspondence from Craig Carlson's time at Evergreen. Includes two framed pictures, one a photograph and the other a drawing entitled "Frazzled" by Chris Gunn, 1996; other photographs; a collection of audio tapes recording oral histories from the program Native American Studies: other audio tapes; Respect 1988; a professional leave report from 1996-7 on Alternative Healing; evaluations of Craig by students and faculty.

Biographical / Historical
Craig Carlson worked at The Evergreen State College from 1973 to 2001, when he died in a swimming accident. He was part of the culture, text and language faculty. He often taught poetry and especially enjoyed the works of Shakespeare, William Blake and Pablo Neruda.
He also founded the college's Institute for Village Studies. He traveled to Belize, Thailand, Nepal and elsewhere with students.
From 1987 to 1995, he worked on the Native American Studies Program. He was a speech coach for the Special Olympics and a mediator for the Thurston County Dispute Resolution Center.
